    Iron oxide black is chemically a an iron oxide pigment whose naturally magnetized particles, in aqueous suspension, give rise to its characteristic and intense granulation: with a certain use of water produce truly surprising and expressive textures. Some watercolorists call it 'the pigment that paints itself'. When it's mixed for example with yellow and red earths, it gives the application a very effective 'mineral' effect for painting walls of ancient houses, stones or mountains.
