This very pure variety of malachite, purified according to a laborious shredding and washing processes used since ancient times, it produces a mineral green of rare beauty: quite vivid and transparent granulation of the natural crystals of this authentic gem of the earth.

Malachite was used in cosmetics and for the production of the famous egyptian blue by the ancient Egyptians. Malachite became the most valuable and longed green in painting in Europe, It was called 'verdeazzurro' or 'verde d'Alemagna, from the Middle Ages until the invention of low-cost synthetic greens.
