Natural lake produced by extracting the juice of the unripe berries of the Buckthorn and processed according to the authentic recipe. The result is a beatuiful golden and transparent greenish yellow color.
Historically known as Stil De Grain or Grana d'Avignon it has been used since ancient times mainly for dyeing fabrics, in manuscript miniatures and less frequently as a pictorial pigment.
Like most organic pigments, it does not have good lightfastenss its unique golden beauty sparkles with genuineness and history.
