Greenish gray variety of vivianite mined in Russia. Its cold tones bring us back to the wild steppes, the cold lands of rock and lakes where this fascinating mineral lies.

Vivianite is an iron phosphate found in nature in the form of earthy nodules or crystals, initially transparent, they oxidize once exposed to air assuming the characteristic color ranging from black to petrol green to deep blue.

It has been known as a pigment since ancient times, in Egyptian, ancient Greek and Roman art.
